Eric Umble is a Brooklyn-based sound artist, clarinetist, and DJ. An acclaimed classical musician with a focus on experimental music, Eric's love of repetition and extended forms made his jump to DJing a natural step. Eric has performed as a DJ across the country including with SYITS’s Techno Cabin 6.0 and 7.0 (PA); is the admin and founding host of Trans-Pecos' weekly Open Decks event; performed in Detroit with Deluxx Fluxx, Paxahau, and Litework collective; performed at Cleveland's B-Side Lounge; was a featured SAUCE artist at National Sawdust (NYC); and appeared as a guest artist on podcasts including Crazed Behaviour (UK), Eethr, and Alt Casts (NYC). Eric is co-founder, lead producer, and resident of FACETIME along with Rebecca Goldberg (Detroit Underground).

FaceTime (Instagram: @facetimetechno) is a techno/house-focused queer-centered party founded in 2019 by Detroit-based artist Rebecca Goldberg and Brooklyn-based artist, Eric Umble. We aim to create and hold safe space for our community to celebrate each other; to see and be seen by each other; and to affirm, support, and uplift each other. The party is forged from Detroit-Brooklyn musical connections and our desire to cultivate community through a collective passion for techno and house.

Starting in July, 2022, FaceTime became a monthly party on Thursdays at Trans-Pecos in Queens, NYC. In addition to residents Eric Umble and Rebecca Goldberg, FaceTime parties have featured artists including Pierre-Louis, Kyruh, Cory James, LiteWork Detroit, Arvin T., Devoye, FadeFace, Starrk, Elle Dee, Violet Flux, Matt Altman, and Jondoetheo1. 2022-23 artists include Jay York, Pierre-Louis, Daiyah, False Witness, Terrence, Spencer, and Domestic Suspense. FaceTime has been held at venues including the Parkside Lounge, H0l0, Market Hotel, Hart Bar, and Trans-Pecos in NYC; as well as after-hours, virtual, and late-night events in both Detroit and Cleveland.
